London Will Host 2012 Olympic Games

Starting from 27th July, London will host the XXX Olympic Summer Games. Sport events will be hosted all around the city. There are plenty of chances to watch your favorite sports and live the unique atmosphere provided by the Olympic Games. You can watch the marathon running all around the capital of United Kingdom or get yourself tickets to one of the many events hosted at the new Olympic Stadium. You can choose between more than 50 events for athletics, as well as soccer, tennis, basketball, or rowing along the Thames.

Watch the Stars from The Royal Observatory in Greenwich

The Royal Observatory is located right at the top of Greenwich Hill, and offers, for a small entrance fee, astronomy galleries, educational events, and visits to the famous Peter Harrison Planetarium. The Royal Observatory of Greenwich is a great place to visit while you are spending time in London. The Observatory is easy to reach from the city centre, and it can be an enjoyable tour even for those who have never been interested in astronomy, stars and planets at all.

Tate Modern

Tate Modern, which is in business since 2000, is the worldwide famous modern art museum of London. Tate Modern is always offering visitors amazing modern artworks, including exhibitions from the best artists all around the world. Tate Modern is also offering a Tate-to-Tate boat service, a boat trip taking you from Tate Modern to Tate British. The boat trip also provides one of the best bar services of the city.

The making-of Olympic Games

Many tour operators are now offering walking tours along the olympic sites. Such tours offer an insight into the structures and buildings that will host the XXX Olympic Summer Games, including the Velodrome, the Aquatics Centre and the Stadium. The walking tour is an enjoyable experience that pairs a city sightseeing with a modern approach to sport tourism.

Hix – British Style Restaurant

66-70, Brewer Street, London, W1F 9UP

Mark Hix is not one to shy away from the limelight, he is a regular writer in the Independent newspaper and a TV celebrity. However he knows a thing or two about food. Hix in Soho is a welcoming and vibrant restaurant that reflects it’s owners personality.

The menu has some of the best British ingredients around, combine that with an apparent level of confidence makes an interesting and successful combination. We recommend the excellent roast chicken dish. There is also a busy bar downstairs that is well worth a visit without stopping by for a meal.

Busaba Eathai – Oriental Restaurant

22 Store Street, WC1E 7DS

This very popular Thai food chain started in 1998 and has grown every year since then. However the standard of food has not dipped at all. They still have the finest foods mixed in with a fast and friendly service.

The pad thai at Busaba Eathai is excellent. If you have been to Thailand and tasted the food over there you will know that you won’t find food in the UK as authentic as you can here. Perfect for a quick lunch or early evening meal.

Zucca – Oriental Restaurant

184 Bermondsey Street, SE1 3TQ

Going on a date this weekend? Having a meal with friends? Then Zucca is perfect. Nothing fancy or extravagant here. Simple and tasteful with very affordable prices.

The pumpkin fritters are a must, combined with some refreshing fine wine you are on to a winner

Comptoir Libanais – Vegetarian Restaurant

65 Wigmore Street, W1U 1PZ

Fun and colourful the original branch of this popular Lebanese cafe has a interesting and varied array of food’s. It’s open all day so you can pop in at any point for a falafel, its also BYO drink so is the perfect place to start a boozy night.

We recommend the mint tea and the organic couscous. This cafe is very popular and we imagine it will continue to be so.

Amaya – Indian Style Food

Halkin Arcade, Motcomb Street, SW1X 8JT

If you want high quality fresh food served in a classy venue then Amaya will be right up your street. Amaya has become renowned in London for its salad menu, beautiful dishes with a choice of relishes and delicacies.
